Mission is a high priority of the Diocese, but it seems to be expressed almost entirely in terms of local church expansion, development and life. The Diocese has a notable presence on Campus, which Bishop Alan Blanchard once called "the greatest domestic mission field." Youth ministry is also a strong area of mission activity. In terms of cross-cultural engagement, the social ministries of the Diocese are a witness to the "global" character of the Diocesan work. Although there is little posted on the web site about overseas relationships, I know that parishes in the diocese have considerable experience in mission in a global context.
