DIOCESE OF KANSAS
Dr. Michael Doudoroff
Each North American diocese has hosted visitors from Venezuela. A Venezuelan youth participation in camp and youth mission projects was anticipated but because of political uncertainties, our visitors were unable to obtain visas. One young adult did make a visit after the camp and conference had been completed.
The Kansas volunteer in the Young Adult Service Corp who served in Venezuela has now returned and is a student at Seabury Western Episcopal Seminary . His presence while in Venezuela and his correspondence improved communications and assisted the Diocese of Kansas to participate more effectively.
Bishop Guerrero visited the Diocese twice in 2003/2004. Venezuelan Youth participated in camp and youth mission projects. The new Archbishop of Uganda invited a priest from Kansas to join his staff as coordinator of Anglican relations. His request stemmed from a long-term relationship between the Archbishop's former diocese and the congregation where the priest had served on the staff. With the formation of a new mission society, she was able to raise the necessary funds and support. Her replacement on staff is the former executive director of SAMS/USA.
